I met Vinod in 2021 being drawn to and inspired by his beautiful poetry. He is Hindu and introduced me to the teachings of Advaita Vedanta which is that God is everything and we all contain God's or our soul's essence of love deep within our hearts. This is a collaboration of both our poetry. We see the Rose as a symbol of the heart. As our heart opens fully, we realise we contain pure sunlight and our essence of love flows.
This book is a story of the return to the soul. As she blossoms and allows her essence to flow freely, she embodies her true nature which is love and the nature of the soul. She realises that anything that isn't love is her thorns which are protecting her and keeping her safe in her garden but she watches them so they don't grow so big that they stop her petals from opening. She shares her love with other flowers because she knows that by receiving love, they will feel inspired to open their own petals.
This is a book of love; it is the essence that unites every living being and it is our hope that in sharing our poetry and our essence of love we can inspire others into opening their own petals of the heart.
